The Sewer Operating Committee (SOC) advises Council on matters related to the municipal wastewater collection system. The SOC discusses municipal operations, identifies issues suitable for Council review, gathers and evaluates information, and recommends courses of action to Council. The SOC is governed by Municipal Law.
The SOC has four members; two regular members and two voting liaison members from the governing body.Members serve on a volunteer basis. At least one of the regular member must have civil engineering or municipal waste experience.The regular members are appointed for three year terms.The liaison representatives are appointed annually by the governing body and serve a one year term.
The Sewer Department is a separate entity which carries out the will of Council, as promulgated by Municipal Code, Ordinances, and Resolutions of Council. Sewer Department staff are employees of the Municipality. To learn more about the Department visit the Sewer Department page.
