Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with the New Jersey Fire Code.
Performs post-fire investigations, participation in National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) and community fire prevention education programs.
Additional programs of the new Department include fire alarm system registration, fire-related complaint investigation programs, kitchen exhaust hood inspection / maintenance programs and the issuance of smoke detector, Carbon monoxide and kitchen fire exitinguisher compliance certificates.
