The Municipality will be hosting a neighborhood preconstruction meeting to give residents the opportunity to meet the Municipality’s contractor and to learn about the construction schedule and construction sequencing for Phase 2 of the Improvements of Witherspoon Street Project between Green Street and Leigh Avenue.

S. Brothers, Inc. of South River, New Jersey, will be constructing the following improvements on Witherspoon Street in Phase 2 over the next 12 months:

• Replacement and/or repair of the storm sewer system, and sanitary sewer main and laterals
• Replacement of all existing curb and sidewalk
• Narrowing and replacement of the roadway surface 
• Installation of street trees and landscaping
• Installation of new street lights
• Traffic marking lines and symbols, and other miscellaneous work

The construction work is planned to occur Monday through Friday during daytime hours.  It is not anticipated that weekend work will be needed. Pedestrian access will be provided to all residences and/or businesses during construction work hours.  The contractor will endeavor to keep one lane of vehicular traffic open during construction work hours.   Before and after work hours, the roadway and sidewalks will be open to all traffic.  At times, some sidewalk closures and detours will be necessary during and after construction work hours; a signed pedestrian detour route will be provided in this situation.

T&M Associates will be the main point of contact for questions during construction, as they are acting as Construction Administrators for Princeton. Donald Newell, P.E. is the Construction Manager and Resident Engineer.
